Thanksgiving

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. My wife and I went to my cousin's (My Mom's Sister's Son) house for Thanksgiving dinner. His wife (I'm still not comfortable with using other peoples names yet) is a great cook, and she made a wonder dinner that served 12 of us. They have two very cute and very well behaved girls. Everyone had a great time.

Is there a Doctor in the house????

From: John Camp
Subject: Congratulations to Alex George

I am very, very pleased to inform you that on Monday of this week Alex George successfully defended his research titled an "Analysis of a Highly Available Fault Tolerant Cluster Architecture." Alex now has completed all requirements for a Ph.D. degree in systems engineering at Oakland University.

In addition to completing an advanced degree, Alex has been active professionally by presenting at local, national and international conferences. Alex's most recent presentations related to his research on cluster architectures and to disaster recovery cost models, a subject of much interest to DR planners.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a UNIX SysAdmin with Wayne State University (WSU). I have worked for WSU for about 26 years (starting in 1980). I started off working on Mainframes, and moved over part time to UNIX in 1992. I started working full time on UNIX in 1994, and have loved every minute of it. I work with a great group of SysAdmins at WSU. I'm not going to get into my private (non-work related) life, and least not for now. I'll add more later.

This is my first blog

This is my first blog (I bet you couldn't guess that!). I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for, but if I don't get started, I won't ever know. So here it goes. I'm going to write something profound. Well, that was enough for one day. I will get started tomorrow.
